I'm always hesitant with FMLs that contain engagements with unsupportive friends/family. When this amount of close people are this upset and critical of the engagement, it's really makes you consider that something about it could be questionable. Like, how does he treat you? How long have you been together? How old are you? These can all have a factor on why they're critical of the engagement. Although they're being blunt and embarrassing you over social media wasn't right, they might be trying to save you from making a mistake. Often when it comes to significant others, "love makes you blind."

There is waaay too little information here, but if the overwhelming majority of people disapprove of your relationship, they have most likely witnessed something you have failed to disclose or are willingly ignoring.

lol florida, sounds like somebody I know, met her a guy 6 months ago, pushed him to engagement since month 1 even tho he had a kid and had no intention of marrying atm. deadbeat quit his job to live with her who lives with her parents. and now they getting married. oh she's a deadbeat as well. wtf Florida.

If you have that many people calling you stupid, you may need reevaluate the person you're now engaged to. Like do they know something about them that you don't? Did you not meet very long ago and they feel you're rushing into it before really thinking about it?
