I laugh at all those saying she should know how to do it herself, if hemming was such a common skill then how can people make a living of it if everyone can do it for themselves??

I'm sorry your grandma won't help you, but just because she is a seamstress does not mean she is obligated to use her skills to help you. That's like asking a family member that is a mechanic to fix your car or a carpenter to build you a house. Even though it seems like a simple request, when you get the simple request enough times, it is no longer simple, and if it is simple enough, why can't you just do it yourself, not that hard to learn. I'm sorry OP but you deserve it for depending on others too much.
