Today, I called my mom for the first time in a few weeks, just to chat because I miss her. When she picked up, the first thing she said was, "Why are you calling? What's wrong? Do you have swine flu??" When I told her that I didn't, and I just wanted to chat, she hung up. FML

Today, I called my mom from Australia. I have been abroad for two months and hadn't talked to her in a long time. A few minutes into the conversation my moms stops me and says this call must cost a fortune and hangs up on me. A few bucks in more important to her then me. FML

There was something amost exactly like this other week, except the daugter was in Australia. I doubt she hung up on you. Get over yourself. And to #26, there's so much coverage on the swine because the media likes to exagerate what they don't understand and blow things completely out of proportion. End of story.

okay that's pretty harsh of your mom. Can I just say: Swine flu is just like any other flu, it spreads incredibly easily and it can kill you if you don't treat it quickly enough...like with any other flu! But it's not a big deal like this media is making out. I'll tell you what they're doing The Gvt has stocks worth millions of dollars of Tamiflu which is a vaccine used to treat this flu. They're using this virus and the media to sell out this drug. don't worry people, you're not gonna die. If you contract the virus, you will know and you'll get the vaccine because of the hissy-fit the media is having.

AHAHAH! omg that's so funny because my mom did the SAME thing to my brother who's in college. she called him to ask if anyone of his roommates or friends has the swine flu. apparently he was joking around and said "yes" and my mom FLIPPED out!...she tends to over react a lot...
