Thank you, DocBastard. Also, I'm not one of those crazy Americans portrayed on television who feels the need to sue for everything. First off, maintenance is admitting the fixed something wrong. Second, I've made some pretty big mistakes in my life too. Third, I'd rather not put the apartment complex whet I live in any financial turmoil, I like it here and I need a place to live.

Ugh, why are a bunch of you just chanting "sue sue sue?" Just stupid and single-minded, people make mistakes and if you actually read the OP's replies you'd see that it all worked out anyway.
Good to know! My experience has sadly been the other way...they just didn't care. They'd pay someone as little as possible to do as little as possible because, if they did SOMETHING, they couldn't be taken to court. It was ridiculous. And it didn't seem to matter which apartment or how much I paid or where it was, either! I actually got a shower drain unclogged by telling them that it was so clogged that water kept running onto the floor when I took a shower. It didn't, I took really short showers, but the prospect of a flood and actual property damage was necessary to get a guy up there with a snake for three minutes. Hope the neighbor below was okay, too!
Good thing you weren't home when it happened!!!
of course. those are maintenance people for u
I SMELL A LAWSUIT!
I am glad you will not sue them. Every time attorneys get involved, things get complicated.

Maintenance man: I'm here to fix your leaky pipe, ma'am. Woman: Oh, it's so leaky. Maintenance man: And it's getting you so wet. Woman: Yes, so wet! Maintenance man: Let me get out my tool...
Not trying to be mean... But from what I've experienced in my life most maintenance teams half ass everything and are lazy. I hope you have renter's insurance if so anything damaged or destroyed won't const too much.
