Report him to the agency that inspects salons and issues cosmetology licenses. That is beyond gross and unbelievably unprofessional. Who knows how many other customers he's done that to.

I would have immediately got up - even with wet hair - and went up to the receptionist to request a new stylist and to speak with the manager. That is gross, and especially dangerous for people like me who have weakened immune systems...

Find the number to their Stateboard and and report them. That's unsanitary, and very unprofessional. Who knows what other crap your stylist pulls with other clients. Unacceptable.
