Today, I cleaned our whole house. I wasn’t expecting praise, it was just the house needed cleaning so I did it. I also wasn’t expecting my girlfriend to get mad at me for “cleaning everything as a form of passive aggressively criticising her for her not having cleaned the house either.” What? FML

Today, my girlfriend returned from a two day trip. I'd spent the time cleaning the house and working on house projects, so she wouldn't come home and be stressed. She got upset when she got home because the house was clean, and it made her feel inadequate. FML

When I sat down to enjoy some well-earned games, my girlfriend sighed and asked if I ever planned to contribute anything to our relationship. FML

this whole issue is a catch 22. If you don't do nice things like that and make them do it all the time, you're a lazy prick. If you do that once in a while, have a moment where you want things clean, or just do it to be nice, you "must be hiding something". The only way around this is to regularly do stuff like that all the time, but we all know that thats to much work. Guys simply don't care if stuff is dirty. Hell, in my college house, the only time any of the rooms get cleaned is when my roommates girlfriends come over and get grossed out
