All of Canada and the U.S.
11 - youre an idiot
*most of Canada and the US. There are entire states that don't.
You're *
I'm in Arizona and have never lived out of the state. I'm nearly 21 years old and still have never been affected by daylight savings time. Not all of the U.S. uses it.
UK uses it but a different one to the US. ours doesn't kick in till 29th march
Parts of Australia uses it
Actually there's only one state that in its entirety doesn't use DLS, Hawaii... The Navajo use it, so a small part of Arizona actually does
Well, France does too. Although I wonder if it's really making us save energy, since we use in the morning the energy we save in the evening, but whatever... at least we got to sleep for one more hour once a year ;)
Most of them... actually.
I forgot too
Sorry, but the manager did not forget, so he (or she) expected the OP to not forget as well. I still feel sorry for OP, but this is both a FML and a YDI.
14, Sunday or not, op was obviously working. Being late to work is a big deal no matter what day it is.
Hopefully if you explain that you forgot that it was daylight savings, he will understand. If not then that shows how big of a different co he is and you are better off without him
What I'm trying to say is that the boss should freak out so much over a small thing like this. On the other hand if OP is always late for work, then I totally understand the boss
With already being in the manager's bad books, I'm thinking OP isn't so responsible to begin with. It just feels like it could be another in a string of issues.
It should be understandable on day lights saving! A tidbit I started doing since I had a smart phone is use that as an alarm, it automatically sets your clock to daylight savings.
Dont let it get ya down man, the effort was there, just try again, i assume youre not fired, so you can still make it better
YDI, daylight savings time is advertised all over the tv and radio, plus smartphones change on their own. Don't have a smartphone? Don't watch cable? Most people have been talking about it verbally and it's also on printed calendars. If you have to work and you know the clocks are changing sometime soon, it's your responsibility to make sure you know and that you're at work on time. Especially if you're already on the boss's shit list. It's called being an adult, and living in the real world.
If they are already on their boss's shit list, it is likely for a reason. If they're never late and this was an isolated mistake then yeah, for sure, cut them some slack. But that isn't really how the fml is worded ...
Not just smart phones update the time. All cell phones do.
There are also many legitimate reasons for the OP to be on a manager's shit list that don't involve the OP being at fault. Such as the manager is an asshole. You are making assumptions.
#75 is right, at one of my old jobs, my supervisor hated me with a passion simply because he and my dad didn't like each other
Seems to me like you just cant win huh?...Atleast you're trying and not just being lazy
Oh the convenience of a cell phone... Use that as your alarm and you'll never have to worry about daylight savings again.
Might has well pick a bottle of lube up on the way.hopefully everything gets better op

At least you tried to make an effort, op!
You are far from the only person who forgot to change their clocks last night.
