Today, I discovered that I'm allergic to band-aids. I now have a band-aid shaped rash around a tiny cut on my leg. Oh the irony. FML

I had a frien allergic to band aid. it's not the bandaids it's the latix in them... try some without latex

Some people are genuinely allergic, though. I have scars on my back from an allergic reaction to the tape they used on the post-surgical dressing. The dressing was changed daily. When I complained they said something like what you've said, and within three days I had blisters big enough to scar.

Should've added this: I know it was an allergic reaction because when I got home and my husband took over the dressing duty, he bought a different type of tape. That kind was fine.

I had the same thing happen Jane. My chart has a big orange latex allergy sticker on it (not to mention my arm band) and they used butterfly strips to close an insicion. Leaves a nice scar.

I'm allergic to them, just get hypoallergenic ones, not that big of a deal... Could also be what 16 said, if you're allergic the reaction will be within a short space of time, if you left it on a while and then noticed then you just left it on too long.

I'm speechless if this is irony..... atleast now you can say.. hey! I'm alergic to band aids :).. throw alergies to latex gloves in there and you can avoid hospital visits all together lolz

I'm allergic to 'band-aids' or 'plasters' what we call them in Ireland:) I think it has something to do with sensitive skin and the sticky glue? It stings really bad:(
