Wow. This was my FML. It was my first time giving blood. I'd tried once before but my hemoglobin was too low. So I made sure to eat lots of iron rich foods the weeks before and was fine this time. Everything went really well. But when I got settled at the table with the snacks where they make you wait for 15 minutes I started to feel a bit dizzy. I fainted then. I'd been in the middle of eating my cookie, so it wasn't that odd. The wonderful people there caught me and lowered me to the floor, and I was only out for about 20 seconds. When I woke I was just really confused, and all I could really coherently think was "I have a half chewed cookie in my mouth," and I couldn't figure out how to swallow. They gave me juice and ice and I went back to my dorm to lay down until class. I think it actually went really well, and I'm excited to give blood in the future. I'll just have a larger breakfast and stay laying down for longer.

I'm pretty sure they said they did in their comment. ...
Would if I could!! I'm gay though so they won't let me :c
Wait, wait, seriously? You can't donate blood if you're ****/bisexual? Please tell me you're making this up #171. That is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. ...Well, maybe not THE most...but it's definitely on the top 10 list.
One of the questions on the restriction list is "have you had any male to male sexual contact since 1985? Next question is have you had sexual contact with any male that had had sexual contact with another male since 1985? I honestly think it has to do with the explosion of HIV and that it can take up to 7 years for the virus to become detectable
I wish I was making it up but I literally cannot donate. In all actuality, straight people have a higher chance of having HIV. Plus they test ALL the blood. It's really stupid
Technically you don't get aids from the blood bag. You would get it from the blood inside, if it were infected.
No 188.. it. an take up to 7-10 years for you to show SYMPTOMS of HIV/AIDS because HIV can often have no symptoms and you begin to show signs once you have full blown AIDS. HIV rarely takes longer than 3 months to show on a blood test and when it does its a matter of weeks longer not years.
Actually, you can wake up with half of cookie in your mouth .How beautiful and happy with your life .
You put the period against the word. Then space. Then start the next sentence. Oh my GOD.
I don't think English is her first language. It looks like she's learning. Give her a break. At least she's trying. (looking at the profile, I see that she's from China. I found learning Japanese characters very difficult. imagine how hard it is for her to learn a new writing system, and communicate using these strange characters.) Cut her some slack.
Well done OP. I am lucky that I have never passed out, but one day I felt so light headed about 15 minutes after donating that I had to stop right in the middle of the mall (because they hold blood drives in the malls here) and get my husband to get me some ice-cream. They don't make you wait where they are stationed unless you feel faint immediately afterwards. It is very common, practically everytime I donate there is someone passing out. :)
I no longer give blood because I nearly pass out every then when it's towards the end of it. I really hate the feeling. So I understand, OP.
LOL you donated blood to a vampire!
Mmmm nope, I don't think OP did...
chocolate chip?
Sure.
Thumps up for the good job buddy
