iAmPaul tells us more.
Hey everyone, Here's a bit more info: It's only the second week of classes, and I don't have my schedule completely memorized yet. I thought my class was at 1 PM, but I realised it was at 2:30 PM. I thought the crowd of students outside the class was pretty different from last week's (my class is a computer class - comprised of mostly males); there were mostly females there. Went in the class with everyone, sat down, waited for the prof to show up. Instead, the prof for the actual class that was happening showed up and she put up the PowerPoint for some sort of psychology class. She looked at me and told me that I'd better get out before it gets too embarrassing. I quickly and nervously packed up my things and rushed back out of the class while feverishly checking my watch and feeling the stares of 150+ students. Rookie mistake, especially for a third-year student like myself. >_

its happened to me also OP. I feel you
Lol the exact same thing happened to me yesterday, I just left the room laughing
At least you weren't naked. Would've been a childhood nightmare come true.

Don't feel bad. This happened to a student in my college today. It was in Ontario also.
Maybe it was OP?? :O
No, it wasn't him. This is a small class of around 20 students and was a law class.
It has to happen at least once, so don't you worry.
I don't know if they do this in other universities, but in mine you get your schedule with all your classes throughout the week so I just take a screenshot of it and when I'm not sure of a class all I need is the photo. Anyway everyone makes rookie mistakes. :)
you do know what photogenic means right?
Photogenic means the inability to forget. So basically even the tiniest detail about a seemingly unimportant event would be remembered. I doubt anyone in this thread has photogenic memory.
Which uni?
Yeah, you guys don't know what that word means... lol Photogenic means you look good in photos. You're thinking of photographic. Don't correct someone if you don't know what you're talking about
Ohh wow I feel like a huge derp now. I guess my mind kept autocorrecting it to photographic. >__
Ok now this makes much more sense
First of all, it isn't a "photographic" memory. It's called an eidetic memory. Second of all, the odds of you both winning the lottery AND being hit by lightning multiple times are higher than the odds of you truly having an eidetic memory. It is so rare as to be virtually non-existent in adults and no cases have actually been proven beyond a doubt. You may have an excellent memory, but it is not eidetic.
Interesting.
#89, photographic memory and eidetic memory are two different things. Photographic memory means that you can remember visual details very well, while eidetic memory means that you can remember every detail observed, even specific smells or sounds.
It's ok I showed up like halfway through a class after a friend texted me asking where I was. It was a 2pm class but for some reason I was thinking 3pm. But at my school you are allowed to sit In on classes you aren't enrolled in. I feel like the professor should've suggested that option
I can't imagine a class that large... I go to a small private school where I've had a half dozen classes of more than 25, maybe 2 of which were about 40, and I have several with less than 10.
I've done that before, except i got on the wrong bus. It's embarrassing but it happens to the best of us, so no worries OP!
I did something similar a few years ago in college. I went to a class an hour early and sat in my usual place. It took me until about the end of class, after we did an in class paper and turned it in, to realize that I was in the wrong class. It was the same material/lesson and teacher (who didn't realize I was meant to be in the next session), just the students were different. So I shrugged my shoulders and laughed at myself for the mistake. No one ever found out and I probably did get a grade on that paper. I bet the teacher figured she put it in the wrong class file.
Hey boy, who told you you could learn in here?
I once got out of one of my classes early but didn't realize it. Normally I start my next class right after I got out of the class that got out early. I walked into class thinking I was late and ran down the steps to get in my seat and someone I didn't know was sitting where one of my friends normally sat. I asked her who she was and she looked at me funny and said I was interrupting her class. I quickly apologized and ran out of there and sat outside but when that class ended I heard people walking by me and one of them went "wasn't that the girl that interrupted our class?" I about died lol
