Many famous people got rejected in the beginning, J.K. Rowling, Eminem, you just gotta keep it at it!
Sitting in a big house that is probably close to empty and the mass public has forgotten about him?
I don't think that was quite the inspiring point that 19 was going for
#20 you obviously know nothing about basketball. Michael Jordan has a family and he is no where close to being forgotten. I do wish I could forget that you ever posted your comment though.
You're right #27. I know almost nothing about basketball. I don't watch it and I don't much care for sports. I know this though. Michael Jordan will never be completely forgotten. He was a good player (I watched a couple of Jazz vs Bulls finals games with my family back in the late 90s). His children are growing up and when I say empty house I mean children out of the house. If he had a family before he retired, the oldest are getting close to college age. I don't know how old they are. I don't follow a celebrity or athletes private family life. And the mass public that I mention? They like to focus on the here and now. And right now doesn't have Jordan in it. I meant no disrespect to one if the greatest athletes of all time. I was just trying to make a joke that he lives comfortably out of the lime light. I obviously failed and will stop making sports jokes.
Even if it turns out to be a terrible book, something good can come out of it. Stephanie Meyer got rejected a lot in the beginning with terrible books and now she has The Host. :) Just keep at it.
#28 seeing as we're talking about publishing a book I think that Shakespeare, Emily Dickinson, and George Orwell would all have something to say about being long forgotten.
annie-nk I know you're already remorseful but I just wanted to say that Jordans sneakers are still very relevant..... people have died trying to get a pair when they come out. It's not a game.
I'm learning from my mistake. So there's the silver lining.
I didn't mean to sound like a jerk Annie. I just happen to be a very big fan of basketball. I apologize if I sounded demeaning.
that's sweet of your dad. someone will want publish your book! some of the best authors get rejected at least once.
I have a published book out now on Kindle as an e-book, and it was free to do! You can publish just about anything, you just upload your book file an do other things, so that's a good way to get a book out there to start. :) OP- I hope a publisher accepts your book!
How was it sweet of the dad? It was obvious to anyone with even a modicum of foresight that OP would just be more disappointed after learning the truth. Intentions are nothing if you don't even try to think about the consequences if your actions.

Show it anywayI'm not saying Twilight is good or that I liked Twilight but it did get published....maybe you're supposed to write another Twilight. I'm just saying.
True enough it is the stuff that sells I guess
I don't like Twilight, but I wouldn't mind being the author tbh. She's probably worth millions now.
She (Stephanie Meyer) hides now a days because Twilight has become blown way out of proportion. Oh and 50 Shades of Grey was published as well. Apparently, you don't have to be a good author to get published.
I just haven't seen her in the media or anywhere since the pre production of Twilight. The craze has died down since then so it seems she's more likely to be seen like how you've mentioned.
Stephanie Meyer wrote The Host. There's still hope for bad writers.
I should go work for Fox News.
Just keep trying. Publishing a book is hard! The only way to get your book published is by not giving up!
Would it make you feel better to know twilight was rejected by 14 different companies? It was still bought for $750,000 but it was bought by a company that had the money to risk losing.
J.K. Rowling was rejected TWELVE times before a publisher finally accepted her book. You can't give up hope OP! Keep working hard and your dream of being an author will happen!
And Harry Potter rules!
Wow, I really must have not gotten much sleep last night. I was thinking Stephanie Meyer still. >_< Curse you, insomnia.
Maybe your dad will find a way to publish your book! Don't give up! :)
