That was sweet of your dad and dont give up yet. If your book is good someone will publish it
That was sweet of your dad, but take it as an act of encouragement rather than sympathy or pity. I'm sure your dad was trying to cheer you up. Good luck OP
At least he cares? He could have shown it in a better way though.
I agree with people saying you shouldn't give up, JK Rowling is an excellent example. And even if your book is not great, keep hoping, after all Stephenie Meyer became a millionaire with one of the most poorly written novels out there.
You can try to self publish. Many authors do that as well. For cover graphics you can hire a freelancers and an editor can be found on a freelance basis as well... Even if it's a small run, you have something to show.
Try proofreading them first. Start with you fml :p
Did you know that you can self publish E-books via Amazon, Barnes & Noble, etc? All you need is a finished manuscript, you create the cover yourself, and you don't need permission from an agent or publisher! (And you get 75% of the profits, as opposed to about 10% you'd get from traditional publishing.) Winning!
Publish on kindle, it's free and easy
