Today, I found a $20 bill on the ground, so I decided to pick it up. It was actually attached to a string and was meant to be a prank by some kids. They failed miserably, so I took the money. They ran up to me and punched me in the balls for taking their cash. FML

Today, as a prank, a friend and I tied a 10 dollar bill to a fishing line, and yanked it away from people as they reached for it. It was going really well until one of our victims pulled a knife and chased us around the block. FML

Today, I was walking down the street, when a man behind me tapped me on the shoulder. He gave a $5 bill and said that he thought I had dropped it. Not having the integrity to turn him down, I took it. I spent the next 20 minutes being chased by a crazy hobo who claimed that it was his. FML

Today, I was walking home, when I saw a homeless man trying to tear the wallet out of another guy's hand. I can't stand bums, so I smacked him across the jaw. That's when the other one kneed me in the balls and made off with my wallet as well. FML

I think some people who say OP should've left the kids alone or that the kids were right don't really understand what happened. OP was walking and saw a $20 on the floor and picked it up. He discovered it was a prank only when he got kicked in the balls. I mean if a $20 was just there, I think many, maybe not most, but a lot of people would even just consider taking it. Because it's free money. Those kids should know better that their prank could've backfired. If they're old enough to pull the prank, they're old enough to realize that it might not go according to plan.

Pretty vague wording here. Do you mean that you stole $20 to punish them for failing to prank you or that you picked it up without knowing it was a prank and was attacked shortly afterwords?
