Today, I found out my best friend has a massive head lice infestation. It wasn't until after I'd used her hairbrush to brush my hair that I figured it out. FML

If it makes you feel any better OP, most lice prefer to infest clean hair. Although it would have been embarrassing for your friend to give you a heads up on the lice situation (no pun intended but whatev..) she should have told you anyway. Unless she was treating the problem and thought she shouldn't bother, which means she should have bought a new brush... This is your friends fault for not telling you, and your fault for sharing personal items. I guess you need to be warned not to use peoples chap stick/lip stick/lip gloss too..

My friend had a horrid head lice infestation for ages, she used to sit in front of my in choir and everyone was just freaking out because you could see them crawling around in her hair, she didn't get rid of them because 'She didn't have the time' She was like 14, she had tons of ******* time. I caught them off her and they were gone as soon as I found out, even after I had treated them I let no one go near my hair because it felt disgusting. To make it even worse one of her best friends was the girl with hair that litterarly went down to her knees, I can't imagine how awful it would be to treat that hair...

Idiot. Don't share personal items with anyone. On the other hand, I never realized how many misinformed people there were on this sight. Head lice can effect any one at any time. They don't jump, and as long as you have hair its a perfect home for them. Clean hair or dirty.

My best friend brought them into my house once. Was a miserable experience. It sucked dick on ice and the tickets weren't on sale so to speak. You can always shave your head if all else fails, but make sure you wax the floors when you take down the curtains because otherwise you are spreading the problem elsewhere.
