Today, I found out my ex just got engaged to a girl he met 3 months ago, shortly before he ended our 5 year relationship. His reason for breaking up was that he didn't believe in marriage and couldn't be with someone who wanted to get married. Right. FML

My brother was with a girl for about 7 years. He'd get ready to propose and she'd back off, saying she wasn't ready. Eventually he said he was, so they broke up. A year later, she got married to someone else. When she met the right guy, she was ready. My brother was shocked, but not offended. Now he's getting ready to propose to the right girl after being together for 3 years, and she's already said she wants to marry him. Your situation sucks, but use it as a way to find someone who you want to marry and who wants to marry you.

This happened to my brother, he dated his bitch of a girlfriend for five years too. She broke up with him randomly and ran off and got married literally a couple of months after. This is crazy. I'm sorry about him OP

I imagine that this was one of those things that, after 5 years, you probably didn't do it for him anymore. He dumped you, move on, no one cares.
