Never marry somone who's family doesn't respect you. Especially when forced to participate in gamily get-togethers. I would rather cut a finger off then have to go through that again. Good luck.

Yeah it sucks when family members don't accept you and are rude when you see them, but if you and your partner are truly in love you won't let that stop you from being together. The family is going to be a part of your life, but if you can see yourself with the other person then it's worth it to fight through those occasional family gatherings.
