How does that even happen? I mean, how could you be aware enough to recognize the shock and realize the plan, but not aware enough to know what you're doing to make everyone want to avoid you to that degree? I seriously want to know what it is that you are doing. FYL for sure, man.
This is the first time I read a FML that didn't make sense to me. I don't even understand what occurred ??? Your company threw a picnic at a restaurant and it was a surprise picnic but you found out and showed up? Were you not invited? I don't see how you showing up would have ruined the work picnic...did they not want you there and your coworkers were disgusted that you showed and that's why this is an FML? And because of this, when everyone saw you, you were "that guy?" What does that even mean? What guy? WTF?
That guy that no one likes.
I think the OP means, the company threw a picnic, didn't invite him because he's the guy that everyone dislikes. As he said, they gave him a vacation like right before it, so he wouldn't find out. He wasn't supposed to go, but he ended up going cuz he found out about it, and everyone was surprised. And that's when he realized he wasn't invited. I didn't think it was that hard to understand...
i already cleared this question. read the other comments. I work at a restaurant so i meant the whole restaurant was there at the picnic. yea. FML on that one. haha
They werent at a restaurant. He WORKS at a restaurant. Why would he say "They company picnic" unless it actually was a company picnic? He'd say company PARTY otherwise. You guys have to use your brains and realize that when this person says "The whole restaurant" they mean everyone they work with. That wasnt too hard for me to understand. But... I'm smart.
If this is real, it's not and FYL, your coworkers totally got owned when you showed up. I would have made it as awkward as possible.
i wouldve done the same thing. i wouldve ****** shit up and made it really awkward for everybody. its fun to see people squirm :]
So you aspire to be a douche... good to know. Good luck with that.
read my info friend, pretty much everything i do is to get a reaction from people. it keeps me entertained ;]
From what I read about you here, joelgernaut, you are a douchebag so, YDI.
Just remember: "Thanks for the Snickers!"
haha. that is exactly what i said
He's most likely an ignorant prick if EVERYONE hates him. Come on, think outside the box a bit here. He doesn't say he is one, but everyone must hate him for a reason.
Aww that's horrible! What'd you do to make them dislike you so much?? That was rather immature of them IMO, I mean even the bosses must've been there & must've known you weren't invited. If they hated you that much they could easily have laid you off..
omg:0 im so sorry! something like that happened to me once. and its not ******* funny at al. it hurts;(

For #16...obviously, the OP didn't know it was planned to exclude him, so calling him "selfish" for going when he wasn't aware he wasn't invited is wrong. At any rate, they were rude to plan a company event and exclude an employee, not to mention stupid, as it was inevitable he would find out at some point. While the OP may be "that guy" that's not an excuse for his co-worker's rudeness and selfishness. But at least he's aware of it; maybe he can talk to someone and find out what's going on. And maybe it's less about him and more about his co-workers (I've seen that happen). Who knows?
Well, why are you 'that guy'? Maybe YDI because you're an ignorant prick. If not, FYL.
