I'd get ahold of his ex and ask her to come by and put the ring on and I would hide and have her act like they were still engaged, and they lived together and that he is being delusional if he flipped out because the "proof is on her finger". Then I'd **** him up with a crowbar. :-)
What a dick.
We are in an economic crisis

awww, angels over your dead body
I hate when men do that! Shouldn't that be considered bad luck?! I'm sorry, but if an engagement is broken, a man should sell the ring, and buy another down the road for his wife. That ring will always remind him of his ex. That's wrong, no matter which way you slice it
Ive noticed a lot of women in the comments share this. i have an idea, if you dont like it, propose to him and get the ring YOU want and stop whining about it. you want equal rights as men? either admit you are the inferior gender, or deal with being treated equally when you ask to be. ^^

Tbh I dont see a problem. Clearly that ring was quite expensive so there was no point losing all that cash just to go buy another expensive ring. Plus he must really like it to give it to you and actually marry you.
I'd be pissed.
