Today, I found out that one of my colleagues believes that aliens built the pyramids. No amount of logical reasoning or evidence has had any effect on his argument of, "but you can't prove they didn't." FML

Only a fool believes that aliens built the pyramids. They were obviously built by the Illuminati. Why else do you think they're in the shape of a triangle?

"Yes, I can." "Well, then do it. Prove aliens didn't build the pyramids." "I already did. Prove I didn't."

Lmao my man has a valid point ???

What's wrong with that? The whole consensus around science is that you have to disprove something for it not to exist... That's why science doesn't go against religion, cause they can't prove otherwise...

No, it isn't. In fact, it's the exact opposite. An idea has to be proven with actual evidence and logic before it's taken seriously.

Science does pretty much go against religion. They're basically opposites (as far opposite as two ideas can be). They don't bother arguing against religion because they know that any actual evidence they turn up will just be rebutted by saying x god made it that way.

Look at it this way. If Christians can get away with that logic, why not the alien pyramid kooks?

Except that the theory of Aliens building the pyramids makes more sense than what Christians believe in.

Let me guess, he also believe the moon landing was filmed in a studio in Hollywood? In my experience it's best not argue with these type of people weather they are right or wrong. Their beliefs are their beliefs and they are entitled to them.

They're not very strong beliefs if the only argument one has for it is "you can't prove it's not true".

If he persists, tell him that HE has the burden of proof to prove you wrong, since he is not even able prove himself correct. If he persists even further, do your best to avoid him, if it becomes too bothersome for you.

It seems to me op is the one who set out to change his view? If they just found out it doesn't seem like the guy rants about it or anything

Prank him by having someone dress as an alien and walk around a pyramid

look up Russel's Teapot and explain it to him

So what? There are literally billions of people that believe a benevolent zombie took their sins away and watches them all the time
