Today, I found out that the $200 a week I was paying my dad for my car insurance and payment, wasn't actually paying my insurance and car payment. How did I find out he wasn't paying? Repo man took my car. FML

That's why I bought a used car that I could pay in full. You don't have to worry about getting your shit taken away if you don't owe anyone for it.

You can always buy back the car. And 40 years from now... DAD: Hey my offspring (I don't see a gender specified), what kind of fancy nursing home are you sticking me in huh? YOU: Remember 4 decades ago when you got my car repossesed by taking my money? Well I bought that car back and inside that car is a nice warm blanket...

well if u were paying ur dad I assume he was on the lease or on papers like a co signer so his credit went down also too, stupid him but sucks you lost your money though

car payments would have been on my truck 1300 a month insurance not included but I paid in full so no payments for me. my point is car payments depend how much the car costs for those are confused why 200 dollars a week the op was paying

I say your dad spent that money on beer and cheap hookers.

if your old enuff to have ur own insurance policy and your own car than u should be old and mature enuff to pay ur own bills urself. not that hard. ydi for relying on other people to handle something so easy to do but so important.

have you ever thought maybe op was on his dads insurance policy seeing how most guys insurance is sky high and to lower it the usually go on the family policy and also his dad could of been a co-signer and told him he had to give him the money each month instead of taking it straight to the bank... that way op actually saved to make the payments...but regardless op got screwed.

YDI for having a car and contributing to Man-Bear-Pig (it's real! I'm super cereal!), for not handling your own bills, for being a deadbeat and blaming your dad, for relying on daddy to do everything for you, and of course for even having a dad. Sheesh, first OPs with moms, and now OPs with dads. WTF is this world coming to.

Wow, so sorry that is a real FML, and I'd take him to small claims court.
