Today, I got a call from my manager saying that I won't need to work this weekend. Too bad I already cancelled a family vacation because he threatened to fire me if I didn't work this weekend. FML

Today, my manager called me to demand I come in to fix his computer, unpaid of course, since I have no overtime rate, then threatened to fire me when I said, "No chance." I’m 1000 miles away on my honeymoon and he knows this, since he granted my holiday request and congratulated me on the wedding. FML

Today, I called into work because of a family emergency. My boss was understanding; my coworker? He tore me a new one because his wife wanted him to take the day off, which he didn't because it was going to be a tough day at work. He also threatened to find a way he could get me fired. FML

Today, my boss asked me if I could work this weekend, doing the work of 2 people, for almost no extra pay. I had a weekend out with my kids planned, so I said I couldn't. My boss called it a shitty excuse, yet gave a free pass to a guy who claimed he had a "phobia of working on weekends". FML

That's an asshole move for your boss to make. I hate when managers are so selfish that they are not considerate of their employee's wishes. I was supposed to get a bonus at work on my most recent paycheck (Friday), but I ended up not getting it like I was told. Why? The CEO was on vacation and didn't feel like doing any work. I hope you can salvage some family-fun on the fly, OP.

I honestly don't understand inconsiderate bosses. Like, obviously they haven't been bosses their whole lives, so they must know what it feels like to have things taken away from you. If I was OP's boss I would give him a bonus or something to makeup for my mistakes. It just seems rude to do that to an employee.

My job, (when I was single) they gave all the married people the weekends and holidays off. Us singles had to work the shitty night shift hrs cause our married boss told us "They have a life and singles have nobody at home so why do you want weekends and holidays off? Besides Mondays off are just as good." -.- He was a ******** boss.
