Calaraphea tells us more.
OP here. I didn't expect it to be noted as a medical bracelet substitute. It's very artsy and colourful; it also has a date underneath so I didn't expect people to think it was due to an illness.

I have the bracelet!
See, I would be all like "Why is that snake wrapped around a sword?"
After reading that you work in the medical field, I am going with you should have known better.
If it means something important to you, you shouldn't care what others think.
If it was a substitute it would show what disease it would be and I don't think they will ever have a substitute it would be a tattoo of the bracelet.
People are ignorant. I'm about to get the veterinary caduceus. I wonder if they'll ask me what disease I have that starts with a V haha. Oh, and all you dusty old hags who seem to have a problem with it, your mom jeans, crocs, and mullet-esque haircuts are MUCH sexier and creative for sure. Hahahha.
BTW op it'd called a kaduceus
People are idiots…
Didn't it occur to any of them that for it to be an effective substitute for a medic alert bracelet it would say what illness you had? Otherwise it's almost as useless as not wearing one, really.

well since the tattoo signifies so much meaning to you, then you'll hopefully have no regrets. it just seems that misconception of others will live you the rest of your life. just something you gotta deal with, but I'm sure the tattoo was worth it in the end.
