Calaraphea tells us more.
OP here. I didn't expect it to be noted as a medical bracelet substitute. It's very artsy and colourful; it also has a date underneath so I didn't expect people to think it was due to an illness.

Why would you do that?
To be fair, the meaning of that symbol has changed. Bearing a swastika is just asking for it.
I hope the tattoo was with one snake, and not two, or else you'd also be showing your ignorance of mythology.
Let me guess, Greek mythology, Hermes symbol
I'm diabetic and I know a lot of others who have that symbol tattooed on their wrist with their date if diagnosis on it. Being a doctor, how could you not realise how that will be mis-interpreted. It is the symbol used to save lives!
These people often make the tattoos colourful and funky too, because whilst it has the emergency medical ID meaning, it is also a testimony if their strength and identity in relation to the condition.
I would assume you're a nurse
They are probably thinking that you have an illness, because the tattoo is the alternative to the brackets and necklaces.
which illness do you have?
Made any in breakable vows yet?
The Nazis took the swastika from Buddhism. They flipped it round 45 degrees.

well since the tattoo signifies so much meaning to you, then you'll hopefully have no regrets. it just seems that misconception of others will live you the rest of your life. just something you gotta deal with, but I'm sure the tattoo was worth it in the end.
