winterbee123 tells us more.
Hi all - I'm OP. I actually went to talk to my teacher and it turns out when he tells us to do "citations" he automatically assumes we know he actually means "footnotes". I accidentally started crying during our meeting and I think it freaked him out, so he's offering me a chance to rewrite it! Ah, the power of a girl's tears!

Here's a wild ideal: ASK HIM.
My guess would be ... everything.
OP, sorry to hear. Might be able to read the offending issue to help understand. Hopefully it will ever be in your favor
I had something like that happen once, I got a 0 on a paper that I turned in. When I asked what I did wrong I was told I didn't do what my prof had said even though I had followed his inductions to the letter.
First of all, we need to know what the subject was. Then we need to know if your grammar and spelling is college level. You should go and ask your prof what the problem was.
My professor hated my essay too: "The wonders of ethnic cleansing and elitism."
Sucks to suck.

Have you thought about talking about it to her or him?
Everything, apparently.
