Hi all - I'm OP. I actually went to talk to my teacher and it turns out when he tells us to do "citations" he automatically assumes we know he actually means "footnotes". I accidentally started crying during our meeting and I think it freaked him out, so he's offering me a chance to rewrite it! Ah, the power of a girl's tears!

That doesn't seem like a productive assessment of your paper. However, you need to speak with the professor if you want to know what he "really" meant.

I had this happen to me in English. My teacher circled my introductory paragraph and write "WTH??" with regards to my thesis. I still can't find a reason why it got a C-.
The moon landing wasn't a hoax. The Salem Witch trials didn't kill real witches. The Germans didn't win WWII Am I getting close? ;)
