I just got into a car accident and broke my wrist and the number she gave for the insurance isn't answering so I feel you
You got hurt and let her leave? I'd be callin 911 getting the damn Calvary out there
She her wrist, calm the **** down
I always learned it as you call 911 if there's more than $1000 worth of damage or any injuries. Because you got hurt, she will be charged for the accident and for leaving.
I always wondered though, how am I supposed to tell what's worth $1000 in damages? Maybe it's just me, but I don't know how much each repair to a car cost.
A scratch these days can be worth 1000$ in damage unfortunately.
The fact that he caused it and is trying to shift blame? Wow..
Show the impact damage
This is sorta what happened when I had a car accident in November. Explain to the cops what happened and hop they do their job.
man, that would drive me crazy.
the impact points will tell the tale to the professionals
Unfortunately you didn't have a dashcam.. Good luck to prove you're right anyway.
When you get into an accident your job is to prove what happened not to prove innocence or guilt. If you called the cops immediately like you should have then they would reconstruct the accident, take both of your statements and submit it to the insurance company for review. You only have to worry about the other guy fleeing, so take his photo, physical details, license plate, car make/model/color and get the S/N if you can. If you weren't in the wrong then you should have nothing to worry about, despite what the other guy is saying. It might also be in your best interest to invest in a dash cam so you can submit hard evidence next time.
That's exactly what I've done. I'm really hoping that the accident doesnt turn on my head for the misleading position of the car
If your only reasoning behind him being at fault is he was going fast then personally I think YDI. Don't you think OP would have stated exactly what he did to cause the crash if he was clearly at fault? Sounds to me like OP was just as much to blame but is mad because the other guy happened to be going "fast". Don't blame fast drivers for your inability to drive.
This comment makes my head hurt. Did you expect OP to magically slow the other car down? Because it has nothing to do with their ability to drive if another car is going over the speed limit.
Let me explain to you what happened then. I was stopped at a red light to be on my merry way. Once it hit green and I saw that there were no cars on the intersection, I went ahead. Halfway through the intersection, I was hit by a car really hard and fast. That alone is to say that the other car was going very very fast that I couldn't see the other car on the block ahead of me. I wouldnt just blame the other guy if he had no fault in it. Hope that could clarify ur reasoning
Did he run the red light? From your description I would assume that the position of the cars was: you hitting his front fender behind the bumper, because he cut across the intersection. Which would mean he must have run the light or turned in front of you
This is the most idiotic thing I've ever read

You should explain what happened because usually the actions leading up to the accident can help explain what happened. Also there may be marks on the pavement to explain tire movement.
I hate people that can't take responsibility for their actions.
