you can't sue for tattoo mistakes.
He didn't ask you to look at the stencil after he put it on to make sure everything was right? I've worked as a professional tattoo artist, we always ask if everything looks right, placement, spelling, everything, before we use start the ink. If he didn't, he's a shitty professional. Unless you didn't go to a pro or ok'd the check. Either way, that sucks. On the bright side, if all he messed up was "no" instead of "know" it shouldn't be too hard to add the letters, since they're at the beginning and end of the word and would even each other out. But I recommend getting that fix done elsewhere. Edit: just realized he mispelled Jon too. That really sucks.
Yet another reason why tattoos are useless and embarrassing.
Tattoos are not useless and embarrassing. A properly done tatoo can make a great statement and look amazing, if you get a stupid tatoo, or have it done by someone who doesn't know what they're doing, it can be embarrassing. Before getting one you should definitely seriously consider if it's something you want on your body forever.
I'm not the slightest bit embarrassed by my ink.
Ah, so because the minority of tattoos get messed up due to human error, that makes all of them terrible and embarrassing? A few cars types fail due to faulty manufacturing, does that mean all cars are faulty and unreliable and shouldn't be trusted? Have you ever seen a well done tattoo, they can look amazing. Tattoos are art, they are drawings and pictures that are a creative expression of the individual and are intended to be appreciated for beauty or emotional power. The only difference between tattoos and other art such as paintings and sculptures is that tattoos go on the human body, rather than a canvas or carved from stone. I think it's also pretty offensive to say tattoos are useless and embarrassing with regards to tattoos artists. Good ones put a lot of effort and pride into their work, they are artists just like any other, not just anybody can do that job, it takes real talent.
When I get tattoos, they draw the image, show me the image, and I approve it or correct it. I don't understand how this could have happened, but you deserved it if you weren't checking his work.
I completely get it. I have a giant cupcake on my back that is supposed to read bake or die but instead it reads baked rodie ******* drunk tattoo artist
What the **** LOL
Better tattoo studios do a transfer first so you can inspect the final design before the tattoo begins.
You were asking for this to happen. It is known.
Is it bad that I noticed the wrong Jon/John before I noticed the actual grammar mistake?
Sue him. He ruined your body.

I guess your tattoo artist knows nothing either.
Brilliant! With the way English is… erm, evolving, your tattoo will become more correct over time. You'll have fun explaining how it was originally misspelled to future generations using nothing but emoji.
