Today, I got yelled at by a customer for refusing to give a found credit card to a woman it didn't belong to. FML

How DARE you save that credit card for the person it belongs to rather than give it to some random person! For shame!

But see this is what happens when you do the right thing. You totally should've given her the card it's so horrible you didn't

Yea, Walmart has 400 billion a year from fraudulent sales ? Or maybe that's an ethnic slur against the bulk of Anericans

There is a huge difference between ethnicity and nationality.

So? If you are this bothered by what a complete stranger has to say then you need to harden up a little bit.

Don't feel you did the right thing.

Imagine if that customer tried sending a complaint to OP's boss.

Well... the customer's story might go like this: "After taking my elderly mom home from an exhausting but much needed clothes shopping trip, she noticed she left one of her credit card at a store. So I went back and found it at the third store we visited, but didn't get it back as my name wasn't on the card. Guess I'll have to take my mom out of her rocking chair just to fetch that piece of plastic."

Offer to call the police so they can arrest her for attempted identity theft

One time we found a CC in front of the registers, and since we hadn't had many customers in a while I went up to the last person to pay and asked if his name was [name on card]. He looked absolutely terrified I knew his full name, and very hesitantly confirmed, which immediately turned to gratitude when I showed him how I knew. Sorry it wasn't as easy for you as it was for me.

Was it her husbands, boyfriends or friends card? How did she know you found it?
