If one simply Googles "can you flush tampons" you will get about a half million links saying that no, it's a very bad idea. While they will go down the toilet, they do not break down in water (that's kind of the point) and can accumulate and clog the system further down. Honestly the only things you should EVER flush down the toilet is bodily waste and toilet paper. Not tampons, condoms, so called "flushable" wipes or anything else. Put all that in the trash, the folks that maintain the sewer system will thank you.
It's better than those gosh darn people who put their toilet paper all used up into the garbage can all gross like that. Just be happy it wasn't worse. >.<
I think putting tampons in the trash is nasty and gross.
