Today, I have a final for my precalculus class. After hours of studying this week, I felt pretty optimistic. Until I got to class and realized that I'd forgotten my calculator. FML

I'm in Differential Equations and we're not allowed to use calculators. I think you'll be alright doing your trig identities in precalc.

We aren't permitted to use calculators at all in my precalculus class.

My teacher for precalc and calc 1 refused to let us use calculators. She was one of the best teachers I've ever had for actually teaching us how to think instead of relying on technology to do everything for us. Those skills were invaluable when I got to college.

What the **** is pre-Calculus anyways? You take algebra, trig and geometry, then go into calculus. Pre-calc is a waste of time.

In many US schools, trig is a segment of pre-calc. Before college I took Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, Precalc, and Calculus. Precalc was pretty much all of trig, some limits, more properties of logarithms, factoring and solving things bigger than cubics, etc.

Why would you assume that? No sane teacher would let their students use anything that has access to the Internet anyway, because then they could google how to do a problem.

Hope you don't plan on taking the GMAT anytime soon, cuz no calculator for that.

You don't need a calc as much for calculus... They mostly use letters to represent the variables.. And if they use actual numbers substitute them for letters, work out and when u reach the simplified answer substitute the numbers back in... U lose 1 mark or 2
