Today, I locked myself out of the house. After hours of ringing the doorbell and calling my roommate, I decided to break the window. When I finally got in, my roommate was waiting with a can of pepper spray. FML

You're getting thumbed down because you're suggesting doing things OP said he already did, not because 'you're using logic'. Now take a moment to think about this: You keep saying to use a land line but OP IS LOCKED OUT OF THE HOUSE. Do you keep a landline phone outside your house? Plus most people don't have phones in their home anymore, especially young people.

You're sounding as bright as the roommate...why do you insist on defending him/her? You said it yourself, "calling" can mean shouting or using the phone, so why is it not a possibility in your mind that the OP did mean using the phone, when that's the way it seems like it was meant?
