Today, I proposed to my girlfriend in the food court at the mall. When she said "yes", the entire food court broke out in applause, and my girlfriend and I were escorted out of the mall for "starting a riot". I never knew clapping was a crime. FML

this isn't even an FYL. you won't remember today as "the day i got kicked out of a food court," you'll remember it as "the day i got engaged." congrats, hope you have a happy long-lasting marriage! :)

Congrats!! :D And mall security guards are stupid...simple as that. They probably just thought they were doing their job. How dare you bring a little happiness to everyone's days by proposing in front of them? You should know that celebratory clapping in a mall is unnecessary noise and therefore strictly prohibited. FELON!!

Congrats but seriously why the food court in the mall? That's not very romantic...

Heh, congrats. Although getting kicked out of the mall is sort of ridiculous, I'd say your fiance means you came out on top anyway. I add myself to the "why a food court" bandwagon, though? I mean, apparently it worked, but it's not exactly the most romantic location you could have chosen...
