Today, I proposed to my girlfriend in the food court at the mall. When she said "yes", the entire food court broke out in applause, and my girlfriend and I were escorted out of the mall for "starting a riot". I never knew clapping was a crime. FML

Why is everyone judging the OP for proposing in a foodcourt... I'm pretty sure the foodcourt must have had some kind of significance or he wouldn't have done it. Maybe it's where they met or where they had their first date... When my husband proposed he didn't even have a ring yet, it was just spontaneously because he felt it was the right time...if you love each other it doesn't really matter how the proposal is done... After all if I were a guy I wouldn't want to marry a "I'm-only-gonna-say-yes-if-you-propose-with-a-huge-ring-at-a-ridiculously-expensive-restaurant" kind of woman...

Mom..Dad...my BF just proposed to me...screams of joy omg!! im so happy for you...the girls friends all gather around.."so tell us how he did it..it must have been romantic" girl " well we were standing in front of taco bell and...." This is going to be a great wedding toast story and something to tell your kids haha if I were you I would lie. Her parents are going to think your a keeper

awww that's cute that everyone clapped...security people / cops are usually jerks and don't listen to explanations, it just makes the story memorable!!!
