Ok, I don't know if people are responding to me, but let me clarify that I never said working in an office isn't a hard job. I was talking about how pay rates don't always vary directly with the amount work that goes into a job. I'm a student, and I have two jobs: one is as a receptionist, and one is working a stockroom. I work just as hard at each one, but I am paid much better for the receptionist job. I'm not talking about garbage man vs your dad. I'm talking about relatively similar jobs in different settings.

I had afull time job... working retail. Is that going to pay as much as my dad's full-time job of 30 years as a network specialist? Nope... and 60% (or whatever) would still be more than what I made. If you had the same job and found this out, THEN you'd be screwed.
