Today, I realized that that tingly feeling on my face when I put a new combination of acne wash, acne medication, and my usual moisturizer on was not, in fact, "it working." It was slowly peeling away the top layer of skin. I look and feel sunburned. I also still have acne and oily skin. FML

I've been there, OP. So many acne treatments have done more harm than good! Believe me, I know how much it sucks.

Do it yourself dermabrasion? What's next, do it yourself breast augmentation?

That's normal actually. My acne medicine did that. Give it a couple weeks. It's taking away your old skin and giving you new, healthy skin (:

Stop moisturising your face. It's adding to all the oils in your skin causing you to break out more

Oily sunburn? Skin usually dries & peels o.o

Read the warning labels on your acne products. You'll notice that more often than not, they specify to not use more than one product without a dermatologist's consent. But I've used several different topicals & orals and most of them will cause your skin to peel for a few weeks. Just stick with it & moisturize. Your skin will almost always get worse before it gets better on acne medication.

LOL that's like leaving salt on your face. YDI for not knowing that acids and bases react to form salt and water.

that's why you test products on a little part of your skin before putting it all over your face!

I find skin the worst part of humans' entire body. If people don't take care of it; "They're ******!"

acne medication often works like that, actually. it doesn't cause a miracle in one week. my face peels every time i have a facial. use a stronger moisturizer to help the burning feeling.
