Today, I rode my new bike for the first time. I made it less than 100 feet from my driveway before I was almost flattened by someone driving on the wrong side of the road. Upside: I managed to get out of the way. Downside: I did it by slamming my brand new, expensive bike into a wall. FML

Upside: You are okay (and still able to post to FML) Downside: Hundreds of people will still say YDI

Forget about the bike, at least you're still safe.

report that vehicle if u can. and hope u didn't get hurt much.

report that jerk I'm sure they will find him somehow through surveillance cameras embedded all over the streets.

Not necessarrily a jerk, maybe just a foreigner who got confused by the British driving on the left.

When I first came from Britain, it was extremely confusing. I got into a head-on accident with a 2013 Chevrolet Tahoe. Anyways, it totaled my Corolla but we all walked out safe.

If someone's so confused over driving on British roads, then they shouldn't be allowed to drive. Doing so does make them a jerk, as they're endangering other people.

Unlucky OP :/ if only you'd got their registration number!

At least you're ok! That's all that matters in this situation!

It's a pity you can't re-CYCLE it

No bike can match the price of your life. Still, sorry to hear that OP.

I'm not sure how 'slamming a bike into a wall' at a reasonable biking speed results in the bike being seriously, unfixably damaged. Scratched up, sure, maybe a part bent, but unusable? It'd suck if a wheel is bent, but that's a replaceable part.

you could also bend the front fork. and some of the carbon fiber bike frames will actually break instead of bend
