Honest mistake!! And its not that she forgot he died, it has nothing to do with them being or not being close. This stuff just happens! I know when one of my grandparents passed away, years later both myself and other family members would still refer to them as if they were living. 'We are going to nan and pa's for lunch, well umm actually just pa's' ect - you spent your entire life with them being a couple - it really is only human to slip up like that sometimes.
My Dad did that one year. We didn't know his uncle (by marriage) had been sick and passed away about a month before Christmas. We are the relatives that no one talks to so we thought it would be nice to send out cards trying to reach out to the family. His aunt called up and bitched him out so bad he was crying. No one bothered to tell us that he died and since we lived on the other side of the country we didn't know. After she found out that we didn't know she felt horrible for yelling at him and we felt bad for not going to the funeral. It sucked all the way around.
Wow nice illustration. It's funny but at the same time sad...:o

Maybe she doesn't stay in touch with her husbands family. Who the hell are you to judge her? It was a mistake. Shit happens.
