Today, I visited my grandmother who has dementia. She thought I was my father, and told me that I should never have married my mother, let alone have had children with her. FML

I can't believe you posted this thinking your life is ****** up. Dementia is heartbreaking, Alzheimer's runs in my family. Both my grandfather and my uncle have died from it and there's a very high chance that my mom will get it too. OP you are an ass for posting this as a fml. Soon your grandmother won't be here for you to complain about how ****** your life is because of her disease.

You're a complete asshole for complaining about your grandmother's dementia. YDI.

i'm sorry, people w/ dementia can still say hurtful things that make you sad even though you know they didn't mean it. GTFO.

But is it an FML? Is their life ruined? Not even close.

I can't believe that bitch is almost dying and still she has to be a bitch..wow

It's ok he looks like Justin Beiber. It has to be inheireted stupidity.

FYL? No, FHL. She has dementia. I know what people with dementia say hurts (Try not being remembered by someone AT ALL.), but it's not their fault. You have to take it and be glad that your brain is functioning properly.

You never know. She might be right, despite the dementia. Have a heart, OP. Could you do yourself a favor and pipe down?

"you deserve it for visiting your grandma" -Ginger Snickerdoodle

your an idiot. If she has dementia she probably doesn't even remember anything specific about you father or mother, just knows that she has a son who got married.

seriously?!?!?!?! YOU'RE the idiot here, you obviously have NO idea what dementia is, or the fact that there are STAGES! jeeze go read a freakin book or something.

:( I am in the same position as you my grandma has it... and she is the only grandparent I have acually met before so it's acually quite depressing :'(
