Today, I was arguing with one of my professors. She said that all married couples fight and I told her that my parents have never argued or fought about anything. When I got home my parents told me that they're getting a divorce. FML

FYL for the divorce thing but you totally deserved the poetic justice

Nothing ironic about it. This doesn't mean your parents fight. Maybe they both just agreed to divorce. People don't have to be angry and argumentative to split up.

wtf all people fight, no ones perfect.thats so ignorant to think otherwise.

WOW! Story of my life!! I had the same conversation with a school friend when her parents were getting divorced. Her parents argued like cats and dogs where as mine never argued. I thought it was so weird that her parents didn't get along... A few years later...my parents ended their marriage.

I love children. So filled with hope

If you're not fighting it's because you don't care enough!

OP, you think you grew up in some kind of "fairy tail" or something? [the move "Pleasantville" comes to mind] i mean get real! not seeing eye-to-eye is a FACT OF LIFE, and it happens to -EVERY- creature. ~just because your parents may not have been vocal about their issues w/ you around, doesnt mean that they didnt argue to some degree in private. ~not every couple has 'Big enough' fights that are worthy to be put on some talk show,... but they DO fight. ie: not cleaning up after themselves, finishing all the milk, throwing away something important by mistake, going the wrong direction... the point is, it doesnt matter what kind of a relationship youre in, youre going to have some kind of fight.
