Today, I was driving a little over the speed limit, when I saw a cop car waiting to join the road ahead of me. I quickly hit the brakes so they wouldn't have a payday with me. I hit the brakes too hard, lost control and almost ended up on someone's lawn. FML

If you were only going "a little" over, you should know you dont need to slam on the brakes to go back under. So either you were going more than a little, or you're just a dumb driver. YDI

I'm sorry but as I read your FML, I feel like you're among those who causes traffic and road accidents. YDI.

Why do I get the feeling that the poster is one of those people who think cops have a quota to fill?

If the cop was waiting to join traffic then he's driving and obviously not using his radar. You need to think before you react.

Did you hit a patch of ice? That's the only logical way I can see someone who was legitimately going just a little over can lose control of his car.

YDI. You may not have gotten a speeding ticket but Im assuming you received a "dangerous driving" one if you were THAT close to causing an accident.

you're dumb for hitting your brakes so hard. u could of caused an accident behind you. next time let off the gas to slow down properly.

Next time don't brake hard enough to lose control over your car. Seriously

THIS is what I don't get. How DUMB are you at driving? Seriously, I've seen YoutTube videos with idiots driving and I never understood those who just seem to panic-accelarate. This was your own fault; you're clearly not good enough to drive if you panic-break (slams break when panicking)

Why do people always feel like they have to hit their brakes just because a cop is there?? Unless you're going at least 10mph over they usually don't give a shit. And even if you are, if you're going with the flow of traffic it's still fine because not like he can pull everyone over.

I don't see why people do this. By the time you see them, they've seen you. Brakes and brake lights are a red flag yelling "hey, i was speeding"

Yes, because avoiding a ticket for doing something wrong--Which you were doing-- is much more important than the lives of everyone else on the road you easily could have killed.
