Today, I was in class and felt a sharp pain in my stomach. I began to scream and cry because the pain was horrible, so the teacher called 911. After being rushed to the hospital, I was told that "I had gas cramps and would be fine." My whole class was listening on speakerphone to make sure I was ok. FML

Today, I had the most excruciating pain I've ever felt in my lower right abdomen. I was doubled over and vomiting it hurt so bad. After going to the E.R., thinking it was my appendix and getting checked in, I let out the biggest most rancid fart in my life and the pain immediately went away. FML

Today, I rushed my wife to the ER because she was having abdominal pains. She was crying in the car and very faintly said, "If I die, our daughter goes to my sister and they get everything in my will." We later found out she was just having a bad gas problem. FML

Today, I started getting really bad chest pains at work. I googled it and the internet convinced me I was having a heart attack. Scared for my life, I started to dial for an ambulance when I let out the biggest fart you could ever imagine. Turns out it was trapped gas. FML

Today, I’ve been having the worst gas, nausea, and stomach pain of my life and literally nothing I do works. While I was at work, I farted but it came from the inside out; it was so loud there’s no way everyone didn’t hear it. My stomach started bubbling so loud, the guy sitting behind me got up and walked away. FML

Today, my stomach started to hurt. When I got home, my parents had company over, which I had to rush past to use the bathroom. After being in the bathroom for about 3 minutes, my mother yells to me from the other room, in front of the guests, "Are you OK in there?" I'm 27. FML

Today, while in class, I desperately had to fart. Someone in the room had a coughing fit, so I took that as the chance to let it out. When I was about to release, the coughing stopped. I couldn't stop in time. FML

Today, I woke up with horrible pain in my gut. It got worse and worse, and I started vomiting from the pain. My mom said it was the flu and that I needed to "man up." It turned out to be appendicitis, and I'm now typing this from my hospital bed. FML

Today, I drove a friend to the emergency room because he thought he had appendicitis. While sitting in the waiting room, I got puked on by a child. My friend's diagnosis? Gas. So he also farted all the way home. FML

I've had those pains before...they come on all of a sudden and HURT LIKE HELL, and I went to the hospital for them, but it turns out they were just cramps. You really never know, what if it was appendicitis or something? But really, those sharp cramps can hurt...anyone calling BS has obviously never had this happen to them. You literally can't stand up or move your stomach in any way or it will feel like you just got stabbed. I think things like acid reflux can make them even worse. So to the OP, FYL, I'm sorry this happened while your class was listening, and I feel your pain :(.

I've had some really bad gas cramps but screaming and crying? Suck it up. And who cares if the class was listening on speakerphone? They would have found out one way or another. At least they found out while you weren't there. But I guess even that was too much for you. You're a wuss all-around!

#15, are you sure your "cramps every month" isn't menstrual cycle cramps? They do hurt badly at times. =( but yup, just have to suck it in...nothing to do about it really.Anyways Tor, I hope you feel okay now. I had many of those before when I was really young... and then until one day I couldn't take it anymore I started screaming in my room. My mom took me to the hospital and found out that it wasn't cramps at all. My stomach membrane was torn and part of my intestines were leaking out of the membrane to some other place. You're lucky you are just cramped I guess. =)

Hehe the opposite happened to me, I had recurring abdominal pains and got told by my Mum that it was probably gas cramps cos I "wasn't exercising enough". When I was visiting my Grandma who used to be a nurse and the pains came back, she took me straight to hospital and I got diagnosed with appendicitis and operated on straight away....

As horribly painful as gas pains are, they're nothing worth screaming and crying over. Especially in public. Really? Seems like a HIPAA violation to have the doctor release your personal medical information like that, though. (It's why gay couples often fight for visitation rights. Your classmates are not spouses, parents, or next of kin.) Did she or he not realize you had the speakerphone on? If that's the case, YDI.

@14 - I'm sure they do feel different, but until you actually get appendicitis, how would you ever know? And yes, @26, this is a major HIPAA violation too.

I've had both. The only real difference is that gas pains tend to come on very suddenly, and appendicitis works its way up to unbearable. Also, appendicitis tends to feel sort of "deeper", and last much longer.... It just FEELS more nefarious, but the pains can be similar.

Well, I went to the ER for the same reason. They told me I had gas. Needless to say, the next day, I was back; my pancreas had almost exploded. They starved me for 2 weeks and then I had surgery. Doctor fail. But, THAT pain is worth screaming and crying over, not gas pain. If you really just had gas, you need to suck it the **** up. I picked 'your life is ******' but, I was just being nice.

#26 & 27, who said it was the dr. releasing this info? it could have been the parents talking to the teacher afterwards. And the first time you have gas pains that are that severe, and yes, they do get that severe (personal and professional experience) you have no idea what it is and it takes your breath away, makes you double over, and yes, cry. It sounds like she is younger (in her teens) and if that was the first time she had experienced an episode like that, i can understand why she would be scared....
