No offense Op, but they are called artists for a reason. You could have taken the design of the original tattoo and added more meaning to it. The scorpion on my arm was an image taken from Google and then redone into something better and with more meaning. Sometimes a tattoo should involve you visiting the tattoo shop more than once. That's just my opinion though
To be fair, every single tattoo was inspired by something. I'm sure nearly everyone has brought in a picture as a reference or even wanted a picture or art piece exactly duplicated onto their body. Your fault, OP, is that you decided it spur of the moment, didn't ask the artist any questions about what it could mean, and did no research on it.
You're from New Jersey... I expect that kind of behavior.
