Today, I was rehearsing for a school play. My drama teacher keeps criticising the part where I fake-trip, saying I make it look terribly fake. During today's rehearsal, I actually tripped for real, and smashed my kneecaps against the floor with a scream. He still said my "acting" sucked. FML

When people are judging, they tend to show bias. He probably had the scene in his head and he wouldn't accept anything different.

Tell your teacher to get his act together cause he's tripping.

Trip that ****** and then tell him you're doing research on what a real fall looks like.

I guess that's where the "break a leg" saying in theatre comes from.

Actually, your teacher might be right. Unfortunately, real things rarely look real on stage.

You just went through Stage 2- Tripping major ballsack. Standby for Stage 3.

such mean remarks must have floored you..

Because, my friend, acting is about finding the perfect balance between reality and illusion - you can't be too real because then people will worry for you, not your character; you can't be too fake because then people won't worry at all. Alright, pretentious moment over, I'm going to crawl back into a hole.

On production night just make the trip look so fake with a little scream and everything, then stare at your teacher and walk off stage.
