If you loved them that much when you had them how did you not notice they were gone?
Damn, how much clothing do you have if you didn't notice? Anything I have goes missing and I notice, unless I never wear it. Then I don't care.
So, it sound to me like you just bought back a whole bunch of clothing that you hardly ever/never wear, otherwise you would have a. noticed them missing to begin with and b. recognised some of the other clothes besides the dress mentioned.
Well you noticed your outfit
Perhaps "heaps" of clothes should be folded and organized so not to be taken to goodwill or the like. . Food for thought
Well to be fair, they could have been all neat and folded and she is just using heaps to talk about all the clothes.
Maybe it's just me, but I can't see the dad having a problem with the clothes if they were neatly folded and put away. Parents usually only have an issue when the clothes are all over the floor and/or there's no room for the ones on the floor in the closet/dresser cause those are already overfilled too.

Show it anywayThat's a bit extreme.
No, 21. Murder of the answer for everything.
Just like your typo murdered that sentence.
Poor sentence. He was so young. Those damn murderous typos. He never had a chance. :'(
Well at least you did not have to visit the thrift store dressing room to try them on.
you must have too much clothes anyway if you didn't realize that those were your clothes right away
Sounds to me like it wasn't actually most of her clothes. I'm picturing Veronica from the Archie comics, and how she has like 5 huge closets stuffed full because she shops all the time but never gets rid of the old clothes, and she also only ever wears things once or twice and then she can't be seen in them again. I'm thinking OP must be like that, that's the only way I can imagine you could lose that many clothes, and then find them again, all without ever realizing what happened :P

Donate his clothes, and take him shopping in that trift store.
I think he might be trying to say it's time for you to move out, in his own jerkish way. I hope you didn't have to pay to much for your clothes. Again.
