Yeah, same happened to me today. However, skin colour really makes a huge difference whether you wear sunblock or not. I'm really fair and I got fried today and I used sunblock. You also have to re-apply. The SPF number of sunblock you used could be another reason as to why you got burnt. Maybe you should have gone up a few numbers. SPF 15 always works for me and I'm as fair as can be. But I used an 8 today and got burnt. Soo.... you should re-think the next time you use sunblock. Cover up!!! That is also important if you don't want a burn.

The proper way to apply sunblock is to bathe in it for at least 176 hours. If you do that you'll not only be protected from the sun, but possibly a nuclear blast.
