This is completely believable, especially if it's a GenEd requirement. There are dozens of sections of the same class and none of them would take attendance. It sucks that it happened, but even if it's believable it's your fault for not making sure you were in the right class section.
does your class not take attendance?
What kind of university level class takes attendance? Are you guys in high school or something? This FML is completely believable. I feel really bad for the poster. =( I'm sure if you explained the situation, they could fix it... somehow...
ahaha what a moron. YDI
#38 and everyone else claiming that university profs ALWAYS take attendance at least once, this is not the case. At all. I'm a month away from being finished my 4th year at a top tier university, and in this entire time I've had 3 classes which took attendance, and they've all been seminar classes of less than 10 people. Lectures (especially psych lectures, which are notoriously huge) can have hundreds of people in them; I've had classes with over 800 students in them. No prof is going to waste the time calling out 800 names, even once. To the OP, this sucks! Go to your academic counsellor and see if you can get switched into the class.
Lmao. You must be an idiot to not realize that the course number doesn't match up to your own. Seriously, you should have even gotten a syllabus that describes the course, and you should have been able to see that it is not what you signed up for.
...dear God. The idea makes me cringe but you deserve it. If you have been turning in assignments throughout the school year your NAME would have been on it and while attendance may not be taken in larger colleges a professor can't ignore a name that isn't on their roster. This doesn't sound credible.

I don't even know where to begin...
Ummm really? I find this a tiny bit hard to believe... the professor of the class you were going to never once, not even on the first day, took attendance?
