Today, I went to the bank to find out why they've taken $200 from me. By the time I show them my bank card, ID and tell them my problem, they accuse me of stealing my own identity, and refuse to give me my money back. FML

arsenicalhumor tells us more.

Hello, OP here.. Yes, there is way more to this story, but it was too long for the FML post. So, I once had to go to a Cash Money Store, two christmas 's ago, because I had no money and just lost a job, needing Christmas presents- I sold my soul to one of those stores. For months on end that Cash Money store kept taking money from me (even though I gave them what they needed back) and ever since then, once every two months the bank would make excuses as to why they'd need all of my money, examples: "Oh the Cash Money Store took OUR money and so we are taking YOURS " , "Oh there is this fee you never payed this month and so we took extra" "Oh it's this mandatory add-on that we put on people's accounts" ,in the end I told them I wanted to switch banks, and that's when they started to accuse me of identity theft. Now mind you- I still look the same, I don't age quickly, and so in the end their arguments were invalid, but because they are a bank, it is a little difficult to just be like "Oh, your branch is wrong, and I am right" yes I did switch banks, and I hope this helped with some of the confusion. Thank you :).

Thats the laziest excuse ive ever heard from a bank. Good luck getting it sorted OP.

Broke, yet still tries to make people happy by buying Christmas presents, deserves having money stolen from him? I think your logic is flawed #64.

#50, tl;dr. Thank goodness FML limits the stories to 300 characters including "Today, " and "FML."

Oh Perdix, how I will always agree with you :D

#54, aw, I'm just kidding with you. I'm sure a lot of people want to know exactly how stuff like this happens. If you doubt the authenticity of a story, they wipe out your comment, so it's useful to see how something is true when the abridged story doesn't seem plausible.

And no worries Perdix, I always find your comments great haha ^^

Pro-tip: if you're broke and unemployed, Christmas presents can wait. You kinda deserve all this.

Did they ever give you any of your money back?

#64 that's a bit harsh. I don't think you deserve it OP. Alot of people get fooled by these hack schemes. I've worked in a bank and I know how evil these money companies are!

OP, you said you don't age quickly. Your name must be Logan.

I think that you should stop being such a bitch. Obviously someone cares about their family.

Thank God for the bank reforms in Australia, never get away with this crap. Glad to see its all good for you now OP.

#64, everyone deserves Christmas presents, even if its something very small. You know OP has a big heart when they still try, even if they have nothing

I'm Canadian, and rbc totally is messing with its clients. I switched to CIBC.

I need more information about the "incident"- I think you've left out important facts.

#49 Thank you, that is a good idea, I wish I thought of that sooner; if it is to happen again with my new bank, then I will do that. :)

47, because they're the kind of person that would break into a house just to wash the dishes.

Let me guess, Bank of America? They pulled that shit with me and I never got my money back

No doubt its RBC. They gave a huge house to someone, who presented my buddy's id at the time and with totally different face. Fyi: he lost his wallet and in next 3-4 days & later on blamed that its not his id.... So yea, no doubt.

Yeah it was RBC- and it was awful, I'm happy I left them.

ive only had one good bank account, every other bank account ive had has cheated me, thats why I only use creadit unions now, you should look into it, ive been a member at 4 different ones and they were all great... exept one but that was kinda my fault... i got hit by fraud, and scence i had the money i just paid off the account, they counted it as a charge off and its still on my creadit :(

Sounds like standard banking procedures...

My comment ( Nonsense post ) was removed because I dared to question the truthfulness of this post. Tell you what - shove the FML site sideways - the truthfulness of MOST of the posts on here is suspect!
