Substitute blankie with woobie and you'll meet a bunch of ex military that will say they can't sleep without it. To say panicky without it is going a little bit far at 36 tho
Im 21 have a little stuffed doll I keep with me at night (not at college though) but I bring her to the hospital for all my surgeries. Some people stare at me but most of the nurses think it's cute. I don't care what people think, it makes me feel better. As long as you're not carrying it around obsessively or like outside to run errands or work, who cares. What you do in your bed is your business.
I took mine to college! And on every school trip, vacation you name it. No bear left behind!! ☺️
he just said that
I think it's alright to have a token of childhood and it's innocence, even as a grown up, I love bubbles and am 33 (each bubble has it's own rainbow and reminds me of the fleeting fragility of life), they bring me to the now, I can understand that you want the comfort from the time where you felt utter trust and safety, especially when you are preparing for the daily incomplete death we call sleep. Against the panic part, I personally believe the feeling your blanket gives you, is a feeling you have in your heart already, since cultivated over 36 years..so when you close your eyes and imagine it there in your hands, I'm quite sure the feeling will appear too ;) try it out
I feel like everyone still has a favorite blankie even when we're older, we just don't mention it.
You need to find yourself a significant other to cuddle up with instead of your blankie...
I have a blanket that I've had since I was a baby. I like to curl up around it cause it helps with support.

I've had a certain pillow since I was 10 months old.. I'm 21, and I freak out when I can't find it. My blue pillow
