You should feed them
This is normal behavior in hamsters, especially when it's two males in the same cage. It's a way that one male shows dominance over the other. I made the mistake years ago of having two males and one female in the same cage. I'm sure you can guess what happened. One morning I woke up to find only two hamsters in my cage. I was confused until I moved around some wood shavings and found a more or less headless hamster hiding underneath. Hamsters can be vicious.
We'll all get to this one day.
I agree you should never have to see that, but next time you get a hamster get a separate cage, hamsters are naturally cannibalistic

I'm sorry for you and all, but hamsters are by nature solitary, and if they don't get their space, they actually do eat each other. This is why you have to do research. So, FML but YDI at the same time?...
