Today, my boyfriend asked me when I was going to shave my arms now that summer is coming in Australia. FML

That's rude. Ask him when he's gonna shave off that rude personality

Kind of an odd question to be asked.

Tell him you'll do it, but only if he shaves off ALL the hair on his body. You won't have to worry a abiut it again.

That's terrible... Mine always says I'm not hairy since I'm not as bad as him

If they're really that bad AND it others YOU, then I would suggest seeking help in a more permanent form. Look into IPL. This is only if it's a problem for YOU.

I shave my arms, but it has nothing to do with anyone else or their opinion of me. I do it because i have long, dark, and curly arm hair and it bothers me. I use to do it just every once in a while or just during the summer, but now i keep up with it cause i like the feeling of having smooth arms. It hurts when it starts to grow back. It feels like porcupine needles.

The question you might want to ask is why it bothers you. Unfortunately this society creates unnecessary social pressures for women.

I can see how this sounds bad, but unless he said something douchy before or after this, I don't think he meant ill (He kinda worded it badly though). I mean I only shave in accordance with the weather. Not my arms granted, but maybe he knew someone else like that.

Really? I mean really? Yeah shave them if you plan of spending your summer in Adelaide but otherwise what the?!

I shave mine because I have really long and dark hair and if I don't shave my arms look like man arms. I just wanna look like a woman is that too much to ask?

I'm surprised how many people are upset by this. Hi, welcome to the adult dating world. Where you do things you may not necessarily like or think are important because the person you care about asked you to or does think it's important. I personally don't give a shit about shaving, but my wife prefers me clean shaven. So guess what, I shave. Because I love her and want her to be happy. And shocker she does things for me for the sole purpose of she knows they make me happy. Wow what a novice idea.

Yeah it's cute that you think this is "part of adult dating", but it's not. Thanks to sexism (yay!) women are constantly pressured to be completely hairless to the point that some men claim to be physically revolted by natural body hair on a woman. It's great that you have a compromise with your wife, but don't you dare think it's ever okay to shame and pressure a person into changing their appearance against their will. She obviously is not happy about this, and has every right to be as hairy OR hairless as she wants. **** what her superficial bf thinks.
